About the PA
Additional information about working hoursI have a permanent role Mon and Wed 9am - 5pm, outside of these times I can be flexible.
I currently have two other roles as an employed PA - hours vary.
I have a wide range of experience working with individuals with additional needs. I have worked as a PA for 12 years, mainly working with children with autism. I have provided both sole care of children and support alongside parents in the home and on family trips out.
I have also worked with autistic adults in a residential care home and volunteered for several years at a Phab Club – a space for disabled adults to socialise. I have worked as a teaching assistant supporting children with a variety of needs in mainstream schools across the primary year groups from Reception to Year 6. I have also supported deaf teens in their classes in a mainstream secondary school.
I graduated from University after studying autism a few years ago and use my skills as a tutor for a family with two boys on the autistic spectrum. I also currently work with two families as a PA, working evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. I have qualifications in British Sign Language and Makaton and lots of hands on experience working with those who are non-verbal and use alternative communication methods.
