MEETS CARE STANDARD (Specialist)

Course Aim
To equip staff who may, in the course of their work, come into contact with domestic abuse.

Objectives
• how to recognise signs of domestic abuse
• the effect of abuse on children and family
• the key issues of abuse and violence in teen relationships
• understand services available locally to support young people and families

Content
• Define domestic abuse
• Understand the impact on victims and children
• Understand the reasons why some women stay in abusive relationships
• Safeguarding children
• Resources in the community
• Your responsibilities

Duration: 3 hours

Please note that the minimum delegate number for this course to run is 12. Unfortunately if numbers are not met then it is likely that we may have to cancel the training.
